The Last Day in Ohio

I half expected to get groans when it was picture time.
I thought I would be lucky to get a few shots.
Not the case...the girls were coming up with lots
of shots and poses on their own!
Group shot!  The neighbors gardener took this one:)

 Sleeping Beauty!

My girls and their Best Friends!

Eva decided to rest with Dodge and Charger!
Not a bad photo shoot!
Now off to Texas... See you in December!

Ladies Who Lunch

Kathryn, Heather, Mindy, and I got together for a
quick lunch just before we were to head back to Texas!
Mindy is usually on vacation when we are in Ohio so it
was a rare opportunity to get together!!!
So fun to be together!!

Earlier in the week, El went with Pat and Pa to
a shooting competition.  So Eva and I went to
an arcade at Geneva on the Lake.

She rode rides, played games, won prizes,
and played in a huge maze.  Which she got
lost in for a bit!

Water day!

Summer vacation calls for a day at the beach!
This trip was to Walnut Beach.  A place were you
could find me most summer days in my late teens
and early twenties!
Lake Erie looks inviting.
Eva isn't sure about the waves at first.

Ever helpful Issy is there to help.
I did eventually get in as well.

Next up in water fun is Water Guns!
Gramma Pat decided that would be a good gift.
It seems the girls think so too!

 Better watch out Gramma Pat...

 Eva goes after it!
 Uh-oh!  Looks like payback time...

Covered Bridges

One thing that Ashtabula County is known for is it's
Covered Bridges.
I wanted to take the girls around to see them.
I also knew this would provide many photo opportunities.
So Pa and I took them on a tour of the countryside.
Above they are in front of the longest covered bridge.
(We also saw the shortest on another day.)
Here they are posed by a bridge's historical marker.
This is the Root Road bridge.
One of my favorites.  I used to ride Vivian down by
this bridge.  It is so lovely.  As are the girls in it!

Some many great backdrops is was hard to choose.
Pa and his girls were good sports.

 Getting silly again!
 First show some love above...
and then throw her over the edge!

I think they enjoyed the day.
I had fun sharing it with them.
Just past the bridge we found this
adorable spot equipped with flowers.

 BEAUTIFUL!

A Day with Gramma Brown!

Four Generations!
We picked Gramma up from the Senior Center and
took her to Eddie's Grill at Geneva on the Lake.
After lunch, Gramma Pat went back to work and
Gramma Brown hung out with me and my girls.

We took a little stroll to look at the lake and found
a photo op!
Then back to Gramma Brown's house.  So may childhood
memories!  I used to drag a blanket and pillow out to this
swing and just swing away a lazy afternoon.  I read a lot
of Nancy Drew books in this location as well.  Those same
books now reside in my classroom library.

 Swinging with Gramma!
Gramma is 98 and lifted Eva on to the swing.
She also pushed her on a trike and danced all
through the house!  Wish I had her energy...
Eva played the same piano I spent hours on in my
childhood.  It actually sounded quite nice.  Maybe she
should take lessons???
