Deer Friend You Have a Nice Rack

OK maybe I should explain that title. Not that I haven't heard that line before... but it does not apply here. Autumn in the Hill Country means a lot of deer. During this season we do see several deer in the yard and the neighborhood. Eva sees them and shouts out, "Mom! A deer friend!" Typically, as soon as they see our movements in the house, they will throw their tails in the air and take off. Today was a bit different...
First, this guy comes ambling out of the trees. He is larger and chubbier than your typical Texas Whitetail. He looks more like an Ohio or PA dude. He approaches the house and decides to graze a bit in the shade. Eva and I watch him a bit. I am on the phone with Holly but she does not fully appreciate my excitement. Next I call my Dad. I know he will appreciate a close up sighting of an 11 point buck. He does. I grab the camera and start to shoot. I know at any moment he will sense me and take off.
Instead, he settles in for a little siesta in the shade. I am yammering away and clicking away just a few feet away and he could care less. He is either scratching or just plugging his ear to drown me out.
A few hours later I decide to see if our "deer friend" is still around. I look out the side window to see if he is across the yard. I nearly scream when he pops right up in front of me! He had moved to the new shady spot. We can not believe he is still around. He just stands and looks at the girls as they look at him. He does seem quite interested in Eva's cookie. I think he may have come inside if I had opened the door.
I sat sown and had a chat with him. I said, "You are lucky my Dad is not here. He would be just too tempted by your 'nice rack' ". His reply is in the picture below.

Everything is bigger in Texas!

Found this friend hanging out by the front porch. It is medium in size compared to the others we have seen. This is the closest to the house I have found a live one. For those of you who know how much I enjoy spiders... you know that this in no way amuses me! I thought the tree roaches in Houston were big! Eva was not too put out because she thought he was a good Halloween decoration! She asked me to post that she LOVES Halloween.

Drink Responsibly... Don't Spill.

We were driving to pick up El. On the radio was a commercial to drink responsibly. All of a sudden Eva shouts out excitedly, "Hey! I do that Mom! I drink responsibly! I try never to spill when I am drinking!" Yes, it was all I could do not to completely crack up.
Only the daughter of Todd could innately know that to drink responsibly is to not spill!

The TT Runkles Had A Bit More Fun

We had a later flight than the rest so we went to the beach pool. Eva made sand castles and sand ships.
The rest of us enjoyed the water slide. This shot is when El slowed herself but Dad did not. Therefore, El got a little push out of the end. Todd was reprimanded by the lifeguard.
This was what happened when it was time to go... sad girls:(
Eva is holding her pygmy puff.
The ride home. Eva produced many art pieces before falling asleep. Due to the storm we arrived in Austin about 5 hours late.

The Final Day

This is our last breakfast alfresco.
After breakfast we took some time to stroll and feed the ducks.
The LJ and LB Runkles then had to catch their ride to the airport.
Eva really enjoyed the ducks!

The Magic Kingdom

Eva found the best view.
See video below to see this shot in action.
Princess Eva in front of her castle.

Remember when she was my little princess???
El discovered Space Mountain and loved it!
Eva was so excited to see Tiana, her favorite Disney Priness!
And she pooped out by two o'clock! This was day three and she decided she had seen it all! Todd and PaPa were willing (more than willing, almost insistent) to take Eva back to the hotel. The rest of us made it until the pouring rain finally forced us out.

Day Two at Universal Studios

This photo should show how hot is was. Eva is being soaked and doesn't even care!
The girls contemplate getting closer. This fountain talked to you and had the capability to sqirt water in many different ways and distances.
See video below to see what happens when the fountain was asked,
"You wouldn't squirt a Gramdma would you?"
This is the Dr. Suess train. Universal Islands of Adventure has an entire area dedicated to Dr. Suess. Eva LOVED the carousel. She wanted to ride again and again.
This is DeDe's birthday dinner. I was invited... really. (I am taking the picture)

Harry Potter is so cute! ~eva

El in the entrance to Hogsmeade!
Here are a few of our Wizarding World of Harry Potter adventures.
Eva enjoys some Pumpkin Juice.
Here is El with a beer mustache!
Butterbeer that is.
This is an area only a few of us were able to visit. We had to sneak away from the muggles.
El and I had a blast sneaking up the back stairs when we were all alone!
This shot is of the Gryffindor common room.

Orlando Arrival

We all arrived in Orlando safe and sound. Well, all of us except my luggage! Every single thing I had packed for Eva and myself was MIA. So we happily joined the rest of the family for happy hours (no that is not a typo).
Eva and Deidra pose in Bar American.
Next we have dinner with Shrek...
and Scooby Doo!
Luckily my luggage arrived around 3am so I was able to wear clean clothes. I think everyone was happy about that!

Happy Birthday Dad!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PA!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for all the lessons over the years and for continuing those on with the girls. I still remember when you taught me to drive the big International Harvester tractor and I almost left you on the road. Remember, it is "Slowly let off the clutch" and not "Let off the clutch....slowly" :)

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We are off to Orlando to spend some time in a magical place.
As you can see, El (AKA Hermione Granger)is already able to create a moon with her wand.
I am sure I will have many new posts upon our return to Austin.
We will spend two days at the Harry Potter park and one at the Magical Kingdom.
This trip to to celebrate the --th birthday of Gramma DeDe. (I did not get permission to print the age, therefore I went with --)
